Tides and Time take 2

This is my second attempt at creating a video to project over my sculptures. i think this one is a bit more successful in that it is more seamless with better transitions. I have questions regarding how to export this video in the correct format to project it onto the wall and how to go about doing this, whether to burn it onto a dvd ...etc? if anyone has had experience with projections i would greatly appreciate input. =)

  1. Yes, you should burn it to a DVD. You should probably do this so that it starts automatically without having to click on it to play and then you would set it to loop in the DVD player. Francesca or I can help you.

  3. I think the simplicity of this video should work well projected with the sculptures. One of the big problems with using video in conjunction with other artwork is that it attracts so much attention that the other work is ignored. This is particularly true with longer narrative videos. We are so attuned to watching TV or movies that have a story and we watch it all to know the whole story. A short, simple, looped video provides context and atmosphere that we get quickly and consider in relation to the other work it is shown with. I don't think you want your sculptures to end up as frames that essentially become transparent as we watch your video.

  4. The increase in sound at 28 seconds builds some suspense which I throughly enjoy. Reminds me of an increase of a heartbeat. Your hard work is really paying off. Check out this video that I found that I think perhaps you'll enjoy. It is titled Beach Art.
